I know better

Ordinary leather tennis shoe, before.

Ordinary leather tennis shoe, after the rotary cutter fell off the table in the unlocked position and sliced through the tennis shoe.

My right foot with nary a scratch.

The quilting Gods love me today!

You were so VERY lucky! I need to start wearing shoes when I cut. Thanks for the wake up call.

Ohmigosh, were you a lucky girl!!! I have a bad habit of working in my stocking feet--maybe I'd better rethink that strategy!!!

OMG! Lucky you were wearing shoes! Next time you should wear safety shoes with steel noses ;)))

I am glad the event ended with all of your ten toes still in place. Does this mean you have to go shoe shopping instead of fabric shopping? Perhaps a bit of duct tape...

Thanks for your good thoughts and YES - doggone it - you must all start wearing decent shoes and being careful when you are cutting. Otherwise, Simone you are right - steel-toe boots are required. We are saving that shoe to use as a 'teaching tool' for our kids' summer sewing program through CTA. Here's what NOT to do.

Now Nana needs some new shoes. :-)
